Why is Contrast Necessary?

Reiki is the energy of unconditioned love flowing through us as Wellness Being.

This energy of Wellness Being is accessible to us in the heart of every moment through our willingness to inhabit our true Nature as eternal beings having a physical experience.

The art of channeling Reiki is the art of allowing ourselves to experience the ever-expanding Presence of Wellbeing in ANY moment.

As channels we are aware that what we are channeling is a frequency of unconditioned love and that this invites us to suspend our physical mind’s desire to condition (how/why/where/when) the flow of love with spacetime laws and boundaries. Channeling is allowing without attachment.

What this means, in a nutshell, is that we choose to identify not with that which we are experiencing but rather with our sense of continual expansion in which we recognize healing and being healed as a natural succession of expressing desire.

Abraham-Hicks remind us that one of the most important questions we can ever answer without lying is, “am I enjoying rockets of desire that have yet to be launched?”

The degree to which we can answer “YES” to this question is the degree to which we are detached from our illusion.

This may sound paradoxical: how on earth can you be in alignment with something and detached from it at the same time? Am I not supposed to be focusing (attached to) my undivided attention on that which I am wanting?

When we viscerally understand the concept of detachment, that is to say when we experience detachment as a whole body awareness not just a mental concept, we are now free to experience the spark of Joy that propelled us into saying YES to being here now having this human experience without worry and without a lack perspective.

Living within the agreement that “For Today Only, I anger not, I worry not” (the first Reiki principle) is not to say that what we are agreeing to is manifesting a contrast free environment in which our aim is to never experience “negative” emotion.

Instead what this principle invites into is an experience of ALL emotion from a vantage point that does not identify with that which it is experiencing: *I* am not the worry/anger/anything *I* feel.

Detachment is dis-identification with form. It is the felt knowing that as eternal beings having a physical experience we are engaging within a reality that SEEMS real in order for us to realize the ever-expanding nature of unconditioned love.

The translation of Rei mirrors Einstein’s philosophy that says, “everything is energy and beyond that supreme intelligence” - the universe is the energy of supreme intelligence.

What I would like for us to come to viscerally experience, is that WE are the energy of supreme intelligence RE-COGNIZING it’s true nature: *this* is the leading edge.

Detachment allows us to experience our eternal nature as it invites us to re-member that the essence of all desire is to reach a deeper feeling experience of unconditioned love. Everything we want is just outside our comfort zone. Why? Because without contrast, how could there be evolution? Without contrast how could we, the energy of supreme intelligence, recognize the ever expanding nature of unconditional love?

Are you enjoying rockets of desire that have yet to manifest?

I invite you to listen to the Reiki for Life: Being Reiki conference call we had on the 17 September.

We did a wonderful Energy Awareness Practice in which we experienced ourselves attached to our emotional experience and then detached from our emotional experience, which gave us the contrast necessary to realize our eternal nature as ever expanding beings of wellness.

Envision Quest℠ for the Experience of Observing Energy

Reiki invites us to experience our eternal nature as we come to practice the art of observing that which we feel instead of identifying with that which we feel.

As you observe the following image, infused with the healing energies of Reiki, allow yourself to fully relax and follow the rhythm of your breathing. Inhale deep relaxation and as you exhale become aware of how your body responds to being in deep relaxation.

Use the affirmation below the image by saying it out loud and hearing your own voice. There is great power in the spoken word and even more power in hearing your own voice.

frog

Affirming: As I enter the present moment and allow what is to be, I discover my eternal nature within all of my experiences: I am the observer of all I experience: which experience do I prefer?

This affirmation leads us into the quantum realm of possibility with a sense of deep inner knowing that what we are experiencing here is a very real affirmation of our inherent wellbeing. Take a moment to soak up this energy and give yourself the gift of returning to this energy throughout your day.

The following audio is a clip from one of our Being Reiki conference calls and it invites us to experience the difference between identifying with what we are feeling and observing it.

Please enjoy it and pass it on

Creative Energy

Hello Friends

I’ve BE.en feeling a wonder-full flow of “rising from the ashes” today.

I’m aware that collectively we have been witnessing our own synergetic flow of transformation in relation to that which we are experiencing together in response to our agreeing to being part of a collective shift…. a conscious presence in evolution.

Where before have we been so aware of our evolving nature?

When we were fresh to flesh… through our young, curious and ever un -doubting eyes…. when what we believed was unquestionably worthy of our undiluted trust and knowing… When we allowed our curiosity to guide us into uncharted territory… when this felt so safe and so free.

We doubted not our inner tug to discover. Learning was something we experienced akin to breathing. When not knowing was a delicious portal into knowing.

When allowing the return to the Unknown to be a sweet fragrance was akin to watching the sun make rainbowed windows through the lashes of squinting eyes.

When a moment encapsulated an entire lifetime of awe, when we touch the heart of our inner child through our willingness to See … we witness this moment in motion….

with just the want to not know “it” like we’ve seen it before….

This is where we know our evolving nature: in the space between our knowing that Knows, where our egoic self is recognized as record keeper and not expected to know what it is recording before it has been shown what to record.

This feels like an accelleration of Time.

The creative spark in You understands that when there is a pure positive stream of energy flowing unconditionally through your channel of perception it resonates with the energies in the band of Inspiration.

The creative spark in You understands that undiluted attention given to what Inspiration inspires creates a wake of precision akin to genius. And on the out breath of realizing our deliberate embodiment of this energy, in the earthing of our awareness deep into the heart of our every cell - lies in eternal invitation to experience the perfect wellbeing in every drop, in every ripple.

Right Here. Right Now.

You are the drop.

You are the ripple.

“I am the am beyond my thoughts. I am the creative spark, the will to say YES to joy. Anytime, Anywhere. I am.”

It’s more than ok to not know - it liberates the ego from the unnecessary responsibility to control perspective.

Let us BE the composer of a Life we Live to Sing.

In Lak’ech; I AM another Yourself

During this call we explore what Reiki is what healing means in the light of knowing that all is well.

We also enjoy an Energy Awareness Practice in which we sense and channel energy and feel it viscerally in our bodies and from this come to understand the energetic tools we use to work with energy.

We also talk about our upcoming Reiki for Life Certification Program and let you know how you can take the next step in joining us.

Being Reiki

September 17, 2009

During this call we deepen our understanding of what it is to Be Reiki and how this allows us to experience healing in the light of knowing all is well from a powerful place of allowing.

We also explore the first Reiki principle for living and enjoy and Energy Awareness Practice in which we experience ourselves as Sensors of energy as opposed to identifying with energy. This is a powerful tool for anyone wanting to realize their wellbeing even during contrasting circumstances in which we find ourselves doubting that all is being well.

Being Reiki

September 23, 2009

This recording goes deeper into what it means to Be Reiki and invites us to deepen our visceral understanding of our eternal nature.

Our Energy Awareness Practice invites us to sense and feel our natural state of eternal wellbeing and from this space of unconditional being we realize the true power of the second Reiki principle which is all about appreciation.

One of the most profound aspects of this call is the exploration within the value of appreciating all that is and all that is becoming for as conscious creators we know that rockets of desire as Abraham-Hicks would say, are born out of contrast.

Being Reiki

October 1, 2009

During this call we discover that some of our members are enjoying personal affirmations that working with Reiki is indeed effective and deepen our understanding of what healing means in the light of knowing all is well by exploring the art of allowing, specifically, the art of allowing what is to be as it is.

We also discuss our upcoming Reiki for Life Certification Program and invite you to sign up for a free 1on1 call to determine if this program is a fit for you by becoming clear about what we want and why and creating a personal strategy for you.

Holding Space - A Metta Practice by Erica Ross

Holding space is an act of love.

It is, for me, akin to the Buddhist Metta practice; where one cultivates loving kindness towards oneself, and then out to the other, and to the world.

To begin with oneself, holding space is an expression of self-care, respect and devotion. It is an act of self-kindness, forgiveness and softness which helps foster our ability to heal to wholeness, to find our authentic voice and dance. It is an acceptance and affirmation of our emotions, from our deepest pain to our most glorious bliss. It is a waiting and a stillness that quietly cradles our greatest dreams and hopes. It is a permeable encirclement that holds all that we were, all that we are, and all that we will be. No exceptions.

Holding space is a beauty path, a golden road, a Tao. It’s a way of breathing, of seeing, of perceiving and feeling. It’s a way of moving, of opening, of trusting and surrendering. Holding space says, “Yes! You have come home. You are beautiful. Let go. Relax. You’re good enough. You can do it.”

As we move out beyond our own skin, we hold space for another in the form of deep and compassionate listening and acceptance. It is the practice of keeping our heart open, of letting our breath be fluid and easy, of quieting our mind’s judgments and criticisms and actually letting someone in, to connect in a soulful and sacred way. It’s an invitation to the other to be more of who they are without pre-conceived ideas, making room for the unexpected and the mysterious. It is the holding of all things good and life-affirming for them. It is a living prayer of gratitude, setting a sweet and gentle tone of peace, connection and belonging.

Holding space is a teacher, friend and lover. Holding space, like the divine mother rocking and swaying as she holds her beloved child in her arms, whispers, “Ahhhh. I see you. You are perfect. You are loved. You are worthy. You belong here.”

In the context of a group or communal dance setting, holding space is the art of the facilitator to support, inspire and allow the potential and safe-keeping of the whole and everything and everyone in it. It is the holding of a space of something most precious and fragile- the bonding of souls in flight. This kind of bonding, through pulse and beat, needs a special kind of holding which takes time to hone. It’s a holding of space which is mutually containing and liberating. It is a practice in letting go, of ‘getting out of the way’, and watching as a gentle witness, welcoming and making space for spirit to roam the room.

Holding space is a beautiful responsibility, an endless well, a womb, a wand, a wind. Holding space says, “Come, be free, play and rejoice with all of us here. You are important. Let’s co-create. Be the full spectrum of possibilities. Miracles do happen. This is your tribe. You can finally shine your light.”

The holding of space is a palpable embodiment of love. It holds the potential to be life changing, healing, transformative and culture-making. We, together in our dance, share the ability and power to wildly and devotedly melt into kindness. Let us remember our precious and inseparable connection with each other, nature, soul and spirit so we can practice holding space daily wherever we go, whatever we do, whoever we are with. That’s gotta be a good thing!

Moving Mudra Meditation

dancing in mundra

dancing in mudra

A moving mudra meditation is a sacred dance of invocation, a living prayer.

We use hand genstures as mudras, the Sanskrit word for sign, to embody our intentions as we open ourselves up to allowing universal energies of manifestation to flow through us with ease and grace.

I invite you to spend some time playing with this in order to generate a deep sense of understanding for each mudra.  In short they are invoking witness, being receptive, finding balance between relaxed and altert, paying tribute to the vastness of life, recognizing the unity of all that is and honouring this connection from moment to moment.

In this dance we are channels through which we invite the presence of our intentions to be felt as desires already met as we enter present moment being through the rhythm of our breathing: we are fully in our bodies. Our intentions occupying real time with us.

We call upon Earth Mother as our divine witness to our present moment being. We are grounded, earthed, centered and we are held in the loving gaze of Nurturing energy.

We are receptive, open and allowing to whatever may unfold, fully absorbing our reception within our receptivity.

We balance the energies of relaxation and altert awareness within the heart space and stabilize ourselves in a steadfast mind. We allow ourselves to witness ourselves as we are witnessed by the divine and loving presence of Earth Mother.

We pay tribute to the vastness of Life, acknowledging the infinite potential contained within every particle, every nuance of Life.

We experience, explore and express the connectedness of all things through our awareness of unity and unification.

We allow ourselves to move freely within unity, honouring our unique expression and expansion as part of this divine connection.

We embody our intention to feel this holy connection from moment to moment, activating within us a living intention that is now being sewn into the fabric of our moment to moment experience of life.

Friday Favourites: Communing with Intuition

One of the most important things I have come to learn about working with my intuition is the value of having fun with it! Feeling good is the single most important thing we can do for ourselves: it releases stress and tension thereby boosting the immune system and uplifting our spirits. It allows us to inhabit the moment without worry and makes our orbit inviting to others. It also creates a clear channel from which we can receive intuitive guidance with ease.

Having said all of this, please do not think that there will be a huge and unbearable price to pay if you find yourself feeling less than good. Going through the contrast of our daily lives is part of being alive. Being enlightened does not mean never experiencing contrast. It simply means having the wisdom to know that it too shall pass and that there is a gift within every experience, regardless of the labels we have put on them. The enlightened visionary does not attach his or her sense of happiness on external events. The enlightened being knows that nothing is permanant and therefore the only way to be at peace is to source it from within.

Our intuition invites us to experience the power of our Free Will. It gives us nudges in the form of suggestions to follow our bliss and move toward the essence of our deepest desire (which is is always a good feeling place wrapped up in a fun illusion). It is up to us to make the choice to act on our intuition. It is up to us to shift our focus toward that which pleases us and the first step in this is always an internal shift. A shift of perception.

Being in a good feeling place is simply a matter of choosing to not worry and then animating that choice in such a way that it allows us to inhabit a space of enjoying the moment simply for its own sake.

Remember, you do not only have the choice to feel better when you are feeling less than good. Get into the habit of asking yourself, “how good am I willing to stand it?” and then give yourself permission to shift even higher up the vibrational scale. Allow your contrast to incluce better and even better.

Here are two instant vibration raisers that I have found to work wonders for me. They all include communing with intuition and allowing our higher knowing to guide us.

Please feel free to add your own, it is always uplifting to try new and fun ways to be in joy in the moment!

- Ask yourself: what is my favourite colour?

Most people have a stock standard answer to this, which they have used since we were six.

Before answering, close your eyes and allow yourself to feel your way through this. Embrace all the colours that come to you. You will know which is your favourite by the way you feel.

Your intuition often speaks in the language of feelings. By tapping into how you feel you are perfecting your intuitive tongue. You are also learning the valuable art of observing how you feel as opposed to just feeling in response to what you are thinking.

- Body Bliss

Our bodies are portals through which are able to experience the magical essence of every moment. Oftentimes we feel burned out because are occupying our mental minds far more than we are occupying the rest of our bodies.

Intuition is a whole body langage. Not only does it commune with us through inspired thoughts and ideas and through emotions but also through our bodies.

Here is a fun way to get into the body and thus into harmony with our intuitive nature.

Take in a few deep conscious breaths. Notice that you cannot think and consciously breathe at the same time. Neat, huh?

Now spend some time with each of your senses. Look around and see everything around you. If you are consciously breathing while doing this, you will give yourself the space the witness through the eyes of your source self, your intuitive, all knowing self. Most often we are quick to label what we see before we see it for what it truly is. By looking without labeling we invite the spirit of that which we see to make itself visible to us.

Listen, truly listen. Let each sound wash over you. Notice how you feel.  Smell and taste in an attitude of curiosity. Allow each scent, each flavour to dance within your perception, weaving a sensual tapestry of appreciation within your heart.

Touch - your hair, your face, your desk, your walls. Touch your heart through each texture that sings into your flesh. Let is all in. Revel in each of your senses. You are a sensual being.

Reiki and Intuition

Intuition is the voice of our Source Self. It acknowledges and honours our Free Will, always offering us the space to choose and never insisting that we “should” or “have to” do anything. For this reason, aligning with our intuitive nature is a very empowering experience.

Reiki healing is an intuitive art and invites us to trust the intuitive prompts that come to us during a treatment. As we detach from expectations, judgements and projections and surrender to the flow of wellbeing that abounds, we open a direct and clear channel through which we can vividly experience our intuition and give ourselves the opportunity to deeply trust our connection to Source.

Reiki invites us to enter the moment fully and in this present moment being, align with Universal Life Force; the energy of wellbeing. In this state we personify Source. From here, we invite it fully into our experience for the highest good of all.

Investing time in being present and allowing ourselves to fully absorb the silence of the Here and Now can greatly enhance our intuitive connection. It gives us the space to feel the depth of our Source Self being and invites us to get to know the nature of our thinking mind. As we become familiar with how our thoughts enter the silence of our inner being, we get to know the difference between the voices of thought and the voice of Source, the voice of intuition.

We do not need to spend hours and hours in deep meditation to accomplish this. The beauty of present moment being is that it is easily accessible and doesn’t require us to stop the flow of our daily lives in order to experience it, on the contrary, it enhances the quality of our daily lives by inviting us to experience it as it moves through us. The notion that only those who dedicate every waking moment to deep spiritual practices that require years of training can experience enlightenment is one of the biggest misconceptions around.

Being present is as easy as breathing. Consciously breathing and following the rhythm of our breath is all it takes to suspend the chatter of the mind. This can be done at a stoplight, in a bank line, on the toilet… you get the idea. All it takes is a conscious decision to connect with Source and it is immediately available.

Make it part of your daily routine to breathe consciously when the desire rises to the surface of your consciousness and give yourself the gift of connecting with your Source Self. Notice how this amplifies your intuitive awareness and above all, have fun with this. Give yourself permission to act on the inspirations that manifest as a result of your conscious alignment with intuition, and do let us know where it takes you!

This week I’d like to highlight some amazing Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) resources I’ve discovered. Whether you’re new to tapping or a seasoned pro, I think you’ll find something of value in this list that will help you create better emotional and physical health, prosperity, clarity, energy… or whatever else you are looking to expand on your path to wellbeing.

Tappy Bear About a month ago I discovered Tappy Bear, a beautiful creation for teaching children (or anyone else!) about EFT. I immediately ordered the bear, book and video and started telling everyone how excited I was by this super-cute and clever find! When Tappy arrived, I certainly wasn’t disappointed, and nor were my children! He has become an instant favourite here, and we are learning and sharing lots through his presence. If you have children in your life, I highly recommend you consider bringing Tappy into your family as well.

EFT World Summit The EFT World Summit is a free online event put forward by the producers of Try it on Everything. (Another fabulous EFT resource!) It starts on April 20th and will feature some of the top minds and practitioners in the world of EFT, including Carol Look, Dr. Patricia Carrington, Brad Yates, Bob Doyle, and Carol Tuttle (among others). The program will include a new online audio segment twice a day for nine days, with each one introducing us to a different technique and ‘tap-along’ for a particular area of focus. That’s a lot of EFT magic to experience!

EFT Class on Blog Talk Radio This program, hosted and produced by Eleanore Duyndam, features a different EFT topic and guest expert each week. Past shows have focused on such topics as creative EFT for loving communication, turning your issues into allies and EFT for inner child work. Check out the archives for these and other great subjects. There’s lots of wisdom to be found there!

EFT on Twitter There is an amazing community of talented EFT practitioners on Twitter that I am blessed to be in contact with. I couldn’t possible list all the names here, but if you follow me and drop me a note there, I’ll be happy to tweet you with my many recommendations.

Do you have a favourite EFT resource you’d like to share? Please leave a comment below and tell us about it!

Dancing as a Spiritual Practice

When we give ourselves over completely to the spirit of the dance, it becomes a prayer.

Dance is a passage through which we can enter Unity and how I most enjoy doing energy work.

Here is a movie clip with Gabrielle Roth explaining and showing the beautiful art of 5 Rhythm dancing as a form of meditation - just one way you can explore dancing as a spiritual practice.
