Why is Contrast Necessary?

Reiki is the energy of unconditioned love flowing through us as Wellness Being.

This energy of Wellness Being is accessible to us in the heart of every moment through our willingness to inhabit our true Nature as eternal beings having a physical experience.

The art of channeling Reiki is the art of allowing ourselves to experience the ever-expanding Presence of Wellbeing in ANY moment.

As channels we are aware that what we are channeling is a frequency of unconditioned love and that this invites us to suspend our physical mind’s desire to condition (how/why/where/when) the flow of love with spacetime laws and boundaries. Channeling is allowing without attachment.

What this means, in a nutshell, is that we choose to identify not with that which we are experiencing but rather with our sense of continual expansion in which we recognize healing and being healed as a natural succession of expressing desire.

Abraham-Hicks remind us that one of the most important questions we can ever answer without lying is, “am I enjoying rockets of desire that have yet to be launched?”

The degree to which we can answer “YES” to this question is the degree to which we are detached from our illusion.

This may sound paradoxical: how on earth can you be in alignment with something and detached from it at the same time? Am I not supposed to be focusing (attached to) my undivided attention on that which I am wanting?

When we viscerally understand the concept of detachment, that is to say when we experience detachment as a whole body awareness not just a mental concept, we are now free to experience the spark of Joy that propelled us into saying YES to being here now having this human experience without worry and without a lack perspective.

Living within the agreement that “For Today Only, I anger not, I worry not” (the first Reiki principle) is not to say that what we are agreeing to is manifesting a contrast free environment in which our aim is to never experience “negative” emotion.

Instead what this principle invites into is an experience of ALL emotion from a vantage point that does not identify with that which it is experiencing: *I* am not the worry/anger/anything *I* feel.

Detachment is dis-identification with form. It is the felt knowing that as eternal beings having a physical experience we are engaging within a reality that SEEMS real in order for us to realize the ever-expanding nature of unconditioned love.

The translation of Rei mirrors Einstein’s philosophy that says, “everything is energy and beyond that supreme intelligence” - the universe is the energy of supreme intelligence.

What I would like for us to come to viscerally experience, is that WE are the energy of supreme intelligence RE-COGNIZING it’s true nature: *this* is the leading edge.

Detachment allows us to experience our eternal nature as it invites us to re-member that the essence of all desire is to reach a deeper feeling experience of unconditioned love. Everything we want is just outside our comfort zone. Why? Because without contrast, how could there be evolution? Without contrast how could we, the energy of supreme intelligence, recognize the ever expanding nature of unconditional love?

Are you enjoying rockets of desire that have yet to manifest?

I invite you to listen to the Reiki for Life: Being Reiki conference call we had on the 17 September.

We did a wonderful Energy Awareness Practice in which we experienced ourselves attached to our emotional experience and then detached from our emotional experience, which gave us the contrast necessary to realize our eternal nature as ever expanding beings of wellness.

Envision Quest℠ for the Experience of Observing Energy

Reiki invites us to experience our eternal nature as we come to practice the art of observing that which we feel instead of identifying with that which we feel.

As you observe the following image, infused with the healing energies of Reiki, allow yourself to fully relax and follow the rhythm of your breathing. Inhale deep relaxation and as you exhale become aware of how your body responds to being in deep relaxation.

Use the affirmation below the image by saying it out loud and hearing your own voice. There is great power in the spoken word and even more power in hearing your own voice.

frog

Affirming: As I enter the present moment and allow what is to be, I discover my eternal nature within all of my experiences: I am the observer of all I experience: which experience do I prefer?

This affirmation leads us into the quantum realm of possibility with a sense of deep inner knowing that what we are experiencing here is a very real affirmation of our inherent wellbeing. Take a moment to soak up this energy and give yourself the gift of returning to this energy throughout your day.

The following audio is a clip from one of our Being Reiki conference calls and it invites us to experience the difference between identifying with what we are feeling and observing it.

Please enjoy it and pass it on

How does Unconditioned feel to you?

It’s a windy evening here in Cape Town (South Africa) and the moon is just incredible! There is a beeeeg ring around it in the clouds with a bright star at the edge of the ring :) Such a gift we gave ourselves when we chose to inhabit this physical existence :)

That was one of the things that came up during the Reiki share for some of us and I suspect a LOT of us - a calling to be more deeply aware of our bodies.

During our call we did an Energy Awareness Practice in which we became aware of our inner energetic body. We were able to sense and channel this Life Force energy simply with our Free Will, Intention, Attention and Allowing.

(listen to the call here: http://envisionjoy.com/2009/08/reiki-life-preview-calls/)

It became apparent to us during this practice that our bodies are portals through which we are able to make contact with Life Force energy and we realized that by connecting through the body in this way, it was easier for us to enter the heart space of deeper allowing, deeper connection and deeper trust, which in turn amplified our ability to feel wellbeing in the present moment.

I was excited about sharing an experience I had the previous evening, after our Reiki Share, which gave me a way to viscerally understand the concept of Unconditional Giving | Unconditional Receiving (if you remember, this was something that came up in the reading after our Reiki Share as something for us to focus on to bring us into alignment with who we really are).

(listen to the call here: http://envisionjoy.com/2009/08/reiki-life-preview-calls/)

Lets take a peek at each word (so as to draw a holographic agreement of terms) and see where it leads us.

At the beginning of our call I point out that Rei-Ki are two kanji (images) that conjoin to form a bigger picture, or Ideogram.

These images each have several layers of meaning: from the mundane (physical/literal) to the esoteric (non-physical/metaphorical).

This is how I’d like to look at the word Unconditional

On a mundane level, Unconditional means (and here I turn to the trusty dictionary)

“not limited by conditions; absolute”

With this in mind, lets see it’s esoteric meaning, and it is here that we turn inward, through the body, in order to experience our broader, non-physical perspective and wisdom.

Breath in deeply and allow yourself to focus on the rhythm of you breathing;

Relax - allow each breath to invite you deeper and deeper into relaxation; feel the tension leave your body….

now from a place of feeling present… intend for your awareness to inhabit your heart space - wherever you find your attention, follow it to your heart centre, focusing on your breathing….

imagine that you are floating in a gravity free environment….

notice how you physical body responds to your imagining…

continue focusing on your breathing….. allowing yourself to be exactly where you are in the stillness of your focus…. you cannot get it wrong….

you are freely floating in a gravity free environment….

in this space you are unconditioned….

notice how your emotional body responds…. focus on your breathing….

How does it feel to be unconditioned?

What are you able to do? Watch and SEE what your imagination is showing you…

notice how it feels to watch yourself occupying this space, as if you were reading an absorbing book…

you are unconditioned

ask yourself how it feels… listen… see…. watch….

53139main_jwhires

This is your personal esoteric meaning to the concept of Unconditional. Allow this word to trigger this state of being. Use your Intention.

If I had to write a formula for Intention it would look like this:

I = UD over D squared FW

Intention is Unconditional Desire over Detachment amplified by a Free Will.

There is freedom in detachment. There is a freedom in being unconditioned. There is freedom in intention.

There is freedom in the balancing of these energies. The balance, is weightless.

A “pure” desire, as Abraham reminds us when they speak to us of the power of a pure thought ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBmuc8_GySQ&feature=PlayList&p=880794B9823B4227&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=19) is an uncontradicted one.

A pure desire feels like, “I want it, I got it, it’s coming, I know it!”

This is the energy of Unconditional Desire: it is a desire held for the Joy of it. It is held in the glory of its apex, it’s zenith - the grand finale - because it feels good.

We are unattached to it: there is no fear of it stopping or it not being enough or right… we enJoy our present moment, it is our greatest gift to our Self :)

How are you enjoying inhabiting your body?

In our next call we will be exploring our bodies more deeply as channels for Life Force energy.

Notice how your body is responding to your consciousness (awareness of being aware) and how your perception of physical energy corresponds to your Intention.

Intend for yourself to inhabit your inner energetic body and respond to it from your heartspace: say Yes :) Your will is free and your Inner Being honours this - intuition is unattached to weather or not you say yes :)

Following your breath is an amazing and ever constant invitation to enter the body - happy breathing!

Our next call is this Thursday at 11am EST.

During this call we explore what Reiki is what healing means in the light of knowing that all is well.

We also enjoy an Energy Awareness Practice in which we sense and channel energy and feel it viscerally in our bodies and from this come to understand the energetic tools we use to work with energy.

We also talk about our upcoming Reiki for Life Certification Program and let you know how you can take the next step in joining us.

Being Reiki

September 17, 2009

During this call we deepen our understanding of what it is to Be Reiki and how this allows us to experience healing in the light of knowing all is well from a powerful place of allowing.

We also explore the first Reiki principle for living and enjoy and Energy Awareness Practice in which we experience ourselves as Sensors of energy as opposed to identifying with energy. This is a powerful tool for anyone wanting to realize their wellbeing even during contrasting circumstances in which we find ourselves doubting that all is being well.

Being Reiki

September 23, 2009

This recording goes deeper into what it means to Be Reiki and invites us to deepen our visceral understanding of our eternal nature.

Our Energy Awareness Practice invites us to sense and feel our natural state of eternal wellbeing and from this space of unconditional being we realize the true power of the second Reiki principle which is all about appreciation.

One of the most profound aspects of this call is the exploration within the value of appreciating all that is and all that is becoming for as conscious creators we know that rockets of desire as Abraham-Hicks would say, are born out of contrast.

Being Reiki

October 1, 2009

During this call we discover that some of our members are enjoying personal affirmations that working with Reiki is indeed effective and deepen our understanding of what healing means in the light of knowing all is well by exploring the art of allowing, specifically, the art of allowing what is to be as it is.

We also discuss our upcoming Reiki for Life Certification Program and invite you to sign up for a free 1on1 call to determine if this program is a fit for you by becoming clear about what we want and why and creating a personal strategy for you.

Getting off the Skateboard

One of the things that has been coming up for me lately, and I know I’m not alone in this, is the very strong calling to inhabit the Present Moment more and more and more…..

This has always been my ‘foundation’ so to speak but in the last couple of weeks I have had some pretty amazing encounters and experiences that have taught me the very real benefits of choosing deeper presence.

Sometimes I get carried away with my Mind’s incessant demands to figure things out and ensure everything is in perfect order “right now”. It doesn’t feel so good but there I am, as if on a skateboard tied to a speeding car!

The good thing is that I am finding myself noticing when I get on the skateboard before the car starts revving it’s engine and I’m relieved in the choosing to step off and say, ‘no thanks, not today’

So what is different now? What in me has shifted to allow me to recognize myself getting onto the proverbial skateboard? In the past it would’ve been a jolting speed wobble or a bug in my eye that would have me stop and realize what I was doing: trying to control synchronicity.

When I entertain these questions I realise that what is present now is a deeper Trust in the Now moment, in the adage that says All *is* Well and as it should be.

Trusting more is leading me to release the need to control and I’m really pleased with how things unfold with grace when I do.

One of the other things I would do while on my skateboard weaving through oncoming traffic, is try to convince myself that this was FUN! See? Isn’t this just so much fun?! No? What’s wrong with you? Where is your sense of adventuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure? /while narrowly missing the bus.

When I tried to get off the skateboard I was scared. Wouldn’t I demolish my knees? Wouldn’t I be putting myself in grave danger of being run over? Wouldn’t I lose my sense of adventure only to find out how sloooooooow it would be to walk instead of holding on? Surely I would regret it?

I think the thing that has made the most difference is my WILLINGNESS to embrace the moment. I find that is has led me to breathe more, think less, feel deeper and appreciate that much more authentically.

And to the great astonishment of the driver of the car - my ego - I do not have to tell myself to do these things! It is in my doing them that I realise what I am doing - and how easy and effortless it is! Willingness and Trust allow me to recognise when I’ve got my foot on the skateboard. They also allow me to recognise my power to choose - indeed my will *is* free! But most deliciously of all, they allow me to celebrate each and every time I recognise when I am about to go speeding off on a rather uncomfortable ride!

Another thing I have noticed is that when I do choose to get on the skateboard now, the driver is actually HAPPY to take the scenic, gentle route! I still get to have my kicks and enjoy the ride and it’s so much more joyous when I know I can say, “ok, thank you, I’ve had enough for now - check ya lata!” and get off feeling empowered! I have a whole new perspective on the “joy ride” of consciously creating!

It is my vision for each of us to recognise our true power as conscious creators as we balance our interaction between heart and mind and find our joyous rhythm.

PS I would love to hear your comments and feedback regarding being present - it’s always a blessing to share this space with those who resonate.

Being in the Heart-Space

August 13, 2009 by shireen

If you are anything like me, and I am taking an educated guess at saying we are very much alike in many ways, our path of healing is on the edge between the Headspace of thinking and sorting and deciding and the Heartspace of loving, being and allowing.

Our personal work is the bringing together of Heaven and Earth, so to speak, through our conscious presence.

It is our work to occupy each of these planes with equal acceptance, know that our focus is determining where our energy is flowing.

It is our work to remember that there are no wrong feelings - and no right feelings either. Only feelings we want and feelings we do not want. The key here is to look upon all the may feelings we experience as pleasing and not pleasing to us through the same eyes of acceptance.

It is only when we allow each of them the right to be (and in so doing release attachment to them) that balance is achieved.

It is our work to remember that we can take anything into the Heartspace, all is welcome here.

It is our work to look upon our disconcerting emotions and realize that they are serving us in some way. It is only when we identify with what we are feeling, that is to say when we make them ours and base our self-identity upon them, that we solidify them and grant them power to determine our choices.

Feel around the difference between, “I am angry” and “There is anger within me” and “I can sense anger.”

Can you feel the opening the last one creates? It invites us to see anger for what it is: a vibration, and nothing more. It is as it is.

It is when we make it ours that we place the burden of being something we are not upon ourselves. When we see it for what it is we can choose to receive what it is offering us from a more empowered place.

Our feelings are merely indicators of our alignment to what we are wanting. Indeed, when we accept this and choose to observe rather than react, we open the doorway of possibility and now we can feel the power of our choice.

There is never an ultimate solution outside of us. It is always within us. And it is rarely a cause and effect, “if this, then”, type of solution. It is indeed a state of BEing that invites us to linger just a little longer in the Heartspace - where we FEEL that All is Well.

It is.

I am encouraging you to observe your feelings without judgement. All are beneficial. All are pointing you in the direction of what is most pleasing to you. All are offering you the choice to see clearly where you want to be.

Remember, nothing is ever done to us. Only for us. We do not have to dig up reasons why we think we have to change our vibration. We do not have to make a list of things we must change within our beliefs. These things come to us naturally when we are living in the moment of what we are wanting.

In other words, as we bask in the energies that we are experiencing, knowing that they are all assisting us in lining up with what we want, what no longer serves us will be made known. We do not have to know what is no longer serving us in order to live from a place of alignment.

And when they come, when we realise what we are needing to let go of, rejoice!

Be lighthearted in the unfolding of your ever expanding awareness. As we become more and more aware of our limiting beliefs, we are becoming more and more ready for change.

The healing occurs in the moment of realization. We stunt the healing when we berate ourselves after being aware. We resist feeling good when we believe there is a price to pay for being who we really are.

Yes, as we awaken to our divine nature we will see more and more clearly where we have taken on beliefs that defy this truth - celebrate! The more times in a day that we catch ourselves playing a role that is not who we really are the more evidence we are giving ourselves that we are awakening.

This is what we are never going to get done, and what we cannot ever get wrong. You see, the players and circumstances may vary but the same message will underline our experience until we ‘get it’ so to speak.

There is never a need to feel as though we are taking two steps forward then three steps back.

Contrast is here to let us know how close we are to personifying our divine and inherent nature - we are beings of wellness, we are wellbeing.

And All Is Well.

Holding Space - A Metta Practice by Erica Ross

Holding space is an act of love.

It is, for me, akin to the Buddhist Metta practice; where one cultivates loving kindness towards oneself, and then out to the other, and to the world.

To begin with oneself, holding space is an expression of self-care, respect and devotion. It is an act of self-kindness, forgiveness and softness which helps foster our ability to heal to wholeness, to find our authentic voice and dance. It is an acceptance and affirmation of our emotions, from our deepest pain to our most glorious bliss. It is a waiting and a stillness that quietly cradles our greatest dreams and hopes. It is a permeable encirclement that holds all that we were, all that we are, and all that we will be. No exceptions.

Holding space is a beauty path, a golden road, a Tao. It’s a way of breathing, of seeing, of perceiving and feeling. It’s a way of moving, of opening, of trusting and surrendering. Holding space says, “Yes! You have come home. You are beautiful. Let go. Relax. You’re good enough. You can do it.”

As we move out beyond our own skin, we hold space for another in the form of deep and compassionate listening and acceptance. It is the practice of keeping our heart open, of letting our breath be fluid and easy, of quieting our mind’s judgments and criticisms and actually letting someone in, to connect in a soulful and sacred way. It’s an invitation to the other to be more of who they are without pre-conceived ideas, making room for the unexpected and the mysterious. It is the holding of all things good and life-affirming for them. It is a living prayer of gratitude, setting a sweet and gentle tone of peace, connection and belonging.

Holding space is a teacher, friend and lover. Holding space, like the divine mother rocking and swaying as she holds her beloved child in her arms, whispers, “Ahhhh. I see you. You are perfect. You are loved. You are worthy. You belong here.”

In the context of a group or communal dance setting, holding space is the art of the facilitator to support, inspire and allow the potential and safe-keeping of the whole and everything and everyone in it. It is the holding of a space of something most precious and fragile- the bonding of souls in flight. This kind of bonding, through pulse and beat, needs a special kind of holding which takes time to hone. It’s a holding of space which is mutually containing and liberating. It is a practice in letting go, of ‘getting out of the way’, and watching as a gentle witness, welcoming and making space for spirit to roam the room.

Holding space is a beautiful responsibility, an endless well, a womb, a wand, a wind. Holding space says, “Come, be free, play and rejoice with all of us here. You are important. Let’s co-create. Be the full spectrum of possibilities. Miracles do happen. This is your tribe. You can finally shine your light.”

The holding of space is a palpable embodiment of love. It holds the potential to be life changing, healing, transformative and culture-making. We, together in our dance, share the ability and power to wildly and devotedly melt into kindness. Let us remember our precious and inseparable connection with each other, nature, soul and spirit so we can practice holding space daily wherever we go, whatever we do, whoever we are with. That’s gotta be a good thing!

Moving Mudra Meditation

dancing in mundra

dancing in mudra

A moving mudra meditation is a sacred dance of invocation, a living prayer.

We use hand genstures as mudras, the Sanskrit word for sign, to embody our intentions as we open ourselves up to allowing universal energies of manifestation to flow through us with ease and grace.

I invite you to spend some time playing with this in order to generate a deep sense of understanding for each mudra.  In short they are invoking witness, being receptive, finding balance between relaxed and altert, paying tribute to the vastness of life, recognizing the unity of all that is and honouring this connection from moment to moment.

In this dance we are channels through which we invite the presence of our intentions to be felt as desires already met as we enter present moment being through the rhythm of our breathing: we are fully in our bodies. Our intentions occupying real time with us.

We call upon Earth Mother as our divine witness to our present moment being. We are grounded, earthed, centered and we are held in the loving gaze of Nurturing energy.

Guest Post: Seven Ways to Awaken Your Intuition and Activate Your Psychic Powers by Diana Rankin

May 28, 2009 by Melanie
Filed under Energy Work, Me, Myself and I

Developing your intuition is a healthy way to take charge of your life and use your own inner psychic powers to guide your life to greater happiness and fulfillment. Following are seven ways to awaken your intuition and activate your psychic powers. Each is designed to help you get past the brain patterns you’ve created with your normal thinking. These methods mix up your thinking process in order to help you reach deeper of your intuition and find your psychic powers.

1. Open to Spirit and develop an awareness of your own inner world through meditation, prayer, and a loving desire to live a life of service to all living beings and the planet. You’ll be amazed at the richness and joy you’ll experience as you tap into your inner world. Children are especially adept at exploring their inner worlds, so take your child-or your inner child-on an exploration of the wonders of meditation and deep prayer.

Begin with the intent that you wish to explore the place of love within you. Use a guided meditation CD, music, or meditative breathing. As relaxation spreads throughout your body, allow yourself to experience the love that you are, the truth of who you are. Begin deep prayer work by thanking Spirit for your life and that which is in your life, then relax and ask that it be revealed to you the ways you can be of service to life and live a greater, more expanded and exalted life.

2. Build up the pathways between the left and right brain hemispheres with easy-to-do-crossover exercises. Cross the right hand over the front of your body and tap the left foot seven or eight times. Then, cross the left hand over the front of your body and tap the right foot seven or eight times. Repeat the exercises, but this time cross your hand over the back of your body.

Practice doing things with your non-dominate hand, such as opening doors, brushing your hair or teeth, or even writing. In addition to opening more pathways in your brain for intuition, you’re also creating more brain power for problem solving and critical thinking skills.

3. Heighten the awareness of each of your five senses. Intuition may be called the sixth sense, but if our five senses are dull, we can’t expect the sixth sense to be sharp. Our lives offer an endless playground for our five senses. Mix up your five senses. Begin by holding an object, any object, such as a stone or piece of cloth. Become intimate with that object. Look at it until you can see it with your eyes closed. Then ask yourself what the object tastes like. Use your imagination. You don’t actually have to put the object into your mouth and taste it.

Once you’ve gone through all five senses, mix it up and ask yourself questions such as: What color is the taste? or What does the object’s sound feel like? Then go to the next level and ask yourself questions such as: If this object could speak, what wisdom about my life would it tell me?

4. Become aware of the whispers from Spirit by becoming more aware of life in each moment. Be open to receiving information and guidance to help make your life better. Nature is a wonderful teacher for intuition. Pay attention to the animals that cross your path and the winged ones who grab your attention. If you live in the center of the Midwest and a flock of seagulls dip and dive all around you, listen. Are they asking you to let go of your worries and soar with them?

Nature is alive with stone people, cloud people, tree people, and a myriad of others who speak to us all the time. We only need to listen.

5. Journal and dialogue with that which is greater than you: God, Goddess, a spirit guide, an angel, the highest self of someone you love and trust who has passed over. Choose a regular time to meet. Following morning meditation is ideal. Use your favorite blank journal, and just start writing, or if you’re a visual learner, draw. It doesn’t matter what you write, just write, or draw, and keep on going for about three pages. It usually takes about three pages to get pass the objections in your mind that keeps you from accessing your deeper nature.

You’ll feel the shift, and once you do, write a question, then write the answer. Don’t judge the answer as you write, just write down the words that come to you. This is a subtle process. Don’t expect shouts. Trust what comes. Later, go back and read what you wrote. You’ll be amazed at the wisdom that comes through your inner world.

6. Play intuitive games with yourself and others. Before getting into line at the bank or market, ask yourself which line is the quickest. Gather a group of photographs of different people that are all the same size, turn them upside down, and then guess whose picture is on the other side of each photograph. Use your intuition to stay safe. I live in deer country. Every time I feel the deer near, I slow down. Sure enough, deer will be around the next corner or over the next hill.

7. Let go of control and surrender to that part of yourself that is connected to Spirit. None of us are in control of life, but we are in charge of our lives. We can choose to experience life to its fullest. Or not. We can choose to be grateful for what we have. Or not. We can choose to live a life of service to our own lives and to all humanity. Or not.

Trying to hold control is like trying to stop a river from flowing. Taking charge of your life is becoming the master of your own destiny, flowing with the river and laughing all the way, and allowing your intuition to guide you to a greater, more fulfilling life.

These steps to awaken to your deeper intuition and activate your psychic powers take time and practice. Be patient and loving with yourself. Tapping into your intuition comes in its own time, but comes only after you take the steps toward your own greater self.
